Paleo Turkey Sloppy Joe Skillet

Sep 7, 2018 | Turkey

Ok who is going to win Master Chef??? My money is on Cesar. The dude got tuna heart (why??) as a challenge ingredient and he made kebabs out of it!  Pure genius. I would’ve hidden it in an avocado and put a fried egg on it. And then Gordon Ramsey would’ve put me on a shish kebab. And no one would’ve stopped him, because thats how TV works.

I’m secretly rooting for Ashley, but I don’t think she has what it takes to beat Cesar at the end of the day. We love a good underdog story, though. Maybe the producers are just making us think Cesar is the favorite so we’ll be pleasantly surprised. I also like Gerron, but he’s got too much southern cooking in him to win Master Chef. At the end of the day, you’re not gonna chicken fry your way to victory with Joe Bastianich there. If Paula Deen was there, it would be a different story.

I think the show literally stresses me out. Maybe its because I worked in restaurants for so many years, or because they play dramatic music. I’m emotionally invested in this thing.  When they were making food at the Michelin Star Restaurant for and the salmon was overcooked, I burned the broccoli I was cooking because I couldn’t focus. Thankfully, burnt broccoli is a delicious thing. Good save, Moriah.

Yet another indicator that I will never be on Master Chef, I guess.

Oh, right. I have a recipe for you! Sloppy Joes remind me of home, but I haven’t had them in at least 10-15 years. When you don’t eat bread and you cook for one, you don’t usually think to make them. I was feeling really homesick and tired of making eggs (my usual homesickness cure) so I went for it. And I’m so glad I did, because this sauce tastes just how I remember. AND its Paleo, entirely sugar free, and ketchup free, which is a rarity in Sloppy Joe sauce.
